Taking veterinary care beyond the clinic and into the field.
Vets for Compassion (VFC) is a volunteer-led veterinary emergency response organisation providing specialised veterinary care to animals in the field across Victoria and beyond.
Our multidisciplinary team of veterinarians, veterinary nurses and trained responders works across all species, from wildlife and companion animals to livestock and large animals, providing veterinary assessment, treatment, chemical restraint and emergency intervention in situations where traditional veterinary care isn't readily accessible.
Throughout the year, our teams respond across Melbourne and regional Victoria, working alongside government agencies, emergency services and other organisations to assist animals in complex and challenging environments.
When disaster strikes, our role expands. VFC teams deploy to bushfires, floods and other major emergencies, providing veterinary response and supporting affected animals and communities both nationally and internationally.
At the heart of Vets for Compassion is an incredible team of veterinary professionals who generously volunteer their time and expertise.
Whether you're an experienced veterinarian, veterinary nurse or someone within the veterinary profession looking for a meaningful way to give back, VFC provides an opportunity to take your skills beyond the clinic, learn new ones and make a tangible difference when animals need it most.
Come and meet our team at the VET Expo and discover where your veterinary skills could take you.
