Raman Chagger BSc MSc CMgr MCMI CEng FIET is a professional in the fire safety sector, currently serving as a Principal Consultant at BRE, a leading research and consultancy firm specializing in sustainable built environments. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Raman has established himself as a thought leader in this field and as an applied research scientist and engineer.

Raman is known for his collaborative approach, working closely with organisations to understand current challenges before crafting customized solutions that deliver tangible results. Using an established research framework and with a deep understanding of science and engineering, coupled with his proven project management skills, he identifies a suitable research strategy, collaboratively engages with stakeholders to perform research and collectively propose solutions that drive impactful change in the built environment.

As a speaker at Solar & Storage Live Birmingham 2026, Raman will share his experience of leading the current work of PV-FIN (PV Fire Intelligence Network) to gather relevant data on the causes of solar PV fires. Working together with solar PV and component manufacturers, fire experts, and solar safety solution providers, the steering group are currently gathering reliable data for analysis.
