Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Phong is Sustainability Manager at Bureau Veritas Vietnam, where he focuses on sustainability advisory, ESG reporting and assurance, and carbon management services in line with international standards.

He has extensive experience in environmental sustainability, including greenhouse gas (GHG) verification, carbon offset project validation, life cycle assessment (LCA), and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD). He is an accredited GHG Lead Verifier and approved verifier for carbon offset projects, with certifications across ISO standards, GRI reporting, ISCC auditing, and Gold Standard methodologies.

At Bureau Veritas, he supports clients in complying with regulatory requirements and market mechanisms related to sustainability, providing training, verification, and assurance services across carbon accounting, circular economy, and ESG frameworks.

Prior to joining Bureau Veritas, he worked as a Graduate Researcher at Michigan State University and as a Research Associate at Academia Sinica in Taiwan, focusing on climate change resilience and adaptability.

Mr. Phong holds a Doctor’s degree in Climate Change Resilience and Adaptability from Michigan State University, a Master’s degree from National Cheng Kung University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City.
