Mr. Nguyễn Ngọc Sơn is an Agriculture Specialist at GIZ Vietnam, focusing on sustainable agriculture and the integration of renewable energy solutions such as Agri-PV. Based in Cần Thơ, he contributes to GIZ’s efforts to enhance climate-resilient farming systems and promote innovative models that combine agricultural productivity with clean-energy generation.
He has over 18 years of experience in agriculture, spanning project management, sustainable cultivation standards, IPM/MRL protocols, responsible chemical use, farmer and retailer training, and public–private partnership (PPP) development. Before taking on his current role, Mr. Sơn served as a Project Management Officer at GIZ for eight years, leading stewardship programs and supporting initiatives across the Mekong Delta.
His earlier career includes roles in agribusiness and academic research, notably as Regional Sales Manager at Nam Thanh IMEX and as Senior Researcher at Cần Thơ University, where he worked on rice cultivation and IPM projects in collaboration with CropLife International.
Mr. Sơn holds an MSc in Agricultural Sciences from Szent István University (Hungary) and a BSc in Agronomy and Crop Science from Cần Thơ University. He has also completed specialized training on project cycle management, PPPs, and climate change governance through GIZ and Wageningen University.
