Leopold L.L. Armah is a self-driven; results-oriented and strategic thought Senior Information Technology Executive with over seventeen (17) years of professional experience in delivering advanced solutions and implementing both technical and business strategies for major entities. He has an enviable mix of experience, and versatility in addition to a remarkable track record in the automation of both the Public and Private sectors of the Ghanaian economy, particularly within Telecommunication, Banking, Pensions, and Insurance sub-sectors. His skills involve designing, setting up, re-engineering processes, managing cross-functional IT Projects, methodologies and techniques, and ability to lead and interact effectively with people towards a desired goal.
He has spent the last five years delivering transformational value adding electronic driven change in addition to innovating impactful banking platforms that creates new customer experiences, especially digital, social, mobile & other distribution changes. His info-trepreneural leadership within Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, the last few years had led to the innovation of various smart market leading and disruptive solutions within the Ghanaian market, such as myghpay, the biggest online and mobile payment platform in Ghana resulting in many awards and recognitions locally and internationally to the Bank. Notably, Ghana Information Technology & Telecommunications Awards (GITTA), Banker West Africa, Banking Awards Ghana and Capital Financial International (CFi).
In acknowledgement of his contribution to the industry, Leopold was adjudged the Chief Information Officer for the year 2016 during the GITTA 2017 in Accra, Ghana. He was also nominated as the National ICT Young Personality during the Ghana ICT Awards organized by Ministry of Communications in May 2008. He was also a recipient of the 2nd CIDA Education and Training Scholarship in April 2005. He was selected among thirty-six (36) winners world-wide.
Born in Ghana, Leopold graduated from University of Ghana with Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science & Statistics (Combined Major), and also holds Executive MBA in Information Technology Management with Paris Graduate School of Management. Additionally, he has Postgraduate Certificate in Public Administration from GIMPA and also holds Certificate in Digital Money from Digital Frontiers Institute. Leopold is also an Alumni of Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme.
