Tony Sandberg leads Scania’s pilot partnership initiatives, fostering collaboration with research institutions, industrial partners and internal R&D to accelerate the development and validation of next‑generation vehicle systems and sustainable heavy‑transport solutions. A pragmatic technology leader, he focuses on bridging early‑stage innovation and scalable product development to deliver robust, safety‑critical control systems and electrification solutions for commercial vehicles.
With a long career at Scania spanning system development, predevelopment and research leadership, Tony brings deep technical expertise in engine and chassis control systems as well as electrical system predevelopment. He has led cross‑functional teams to advance control strategies, system integration and early validation activities that shorten time‑to‑market and reduce technical risk. Since 2021 he serves as Head of Scania Pilot Partner.
Tony holds an M.Sc. from Chalmers University of Technology and has been an industrial PhD student in collaboration with Linköping University.
