Sonia Brown | Group Head of Strategy, Innovation, and Market Analytics

Sonia joins National Grid with extensive experience in strategy, leadership, policy formulation, innovation, regulation, and market analytics. Sonia joins from Visa - the world’s largest payment network.  Her previous leadership roles include as a Non-Exec Board member at UK energy consultancy Cornwall Insight, Chief Regulation Officer (and Board member) at Ofwat (the water regulator in England and Wales), Chief Economist at Monitor (a regulator of NHS hospitals in England) and various leadership roles at Ofgem (energy regulator in the UK). Her career goal is to continue to leverage her leadership experience from different sectors to help achieve an affordable transition to net zero.  Sonia is very excited to be part of the team at National Grid and looks forward to meeting with you all in the coming weeks.  Outside of work, Sonia enjoys spending time in the countryside with her family and her dog Luna.  She enjoys fitness and travelling to meet her friends in as many different countries and places as possible.
