Pre-conference Workshops @ 14:00

[W8] 5 Nov (PM) - Adapting generative AI in curriculum design

In this workshop, learn from leaders at Singapore Management University (SMU) on how Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) can help you develop your curriculum. The session will cover how Gen AI will challenge long-standing practices of education and how you can best respond to and engage with it.

Participants will learn about how modules at SMU have used Gen AI tools in the classroom and how educators like yourselves, can make use of the same techniques.

The session will be focused on helping teachers get started with Gen AI in their classrooms with the aim of empowering teachers with the knowledge and skills they need to manage the use of Gen AI in their curriculum.

Participants will also get hands-on experience of using Gen AI to craft parts of their own curriculum. In particular, the curriculum development will focus on the creation of constructive and authentic problems for teachers to use to introduce concepts and drive student learning.

Experience how Gen AI can be used to create engaging and valuable experiences for students in the classroom, and how students themselves can use Gen AI to make the most of their own learning.

Workshop participants will:

  • How to effectively adapt Gen AI tools to craft curriculum
  • How Gen AI can be used to create authentic problems for their content
  • How to drive learning and engage students in the classroom through the use of Gen AI
