[M6] 5 Nov (AM) - Bridging the assessment gap with Generative AI

Generative artificial intelligence (AI) has forced a perhaps overdue emphasis on assessment reform in higher education. This workshop will be facilitated by the lead author of a resource published by the Australian Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency on bridging the assessment gap in the age of AI. The resource will also outline core principles and propositions to adapt assessment strategies to respond to the challenges posed by AI.

Explore the intersection of generative AI technologies and assessment practices. The session aims to equip higher education practitioners, leaders, and policymakers with insights into the challenges and opportunities AI presents for academic integrity and assessment design.

Learn about guiding principles for incorporating generative AI into educational programs, ensuring the integrity of assessments, and fostering a reflective practice on the current and future landscape of education in the digital age. This interactive workshop will offer strategies to navigate the evolving role of AI in learning and assessment. Participants will leave with actionable ideas to adapt their institutions’ assessment strategies, ensuring they are both effective and ethical in the face of rapid technological advancements.
