Haruo Takemura, Ph.D., is President and Professor at the Graduate School of Management and Education Technology, a fully online professional graduate university in Japan. Before assuming his current position, he was a professor at the University of Osaka, where he held senior leadership roles in university-wide digital infrastructure and technology-enhanced teaching and learning. His academic and professional interests include educational digital transformation, learning management systems, learning analytics, human–computer interaction, and virtual and augmented reality. He is also a former President of the Virtual Reality Society of Japan. Drawing on his experience as a researcher, educator, and university leader, Professor Takemura is advancing a new model of professional graduate education that enables working adults to learn, collaborate, and earn a degree from anywhere in the world.
