Mr. Sanjay Kumar is a Senior Executive from Indian Railway (IRSSE) and presently working as Director (Systems) at Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL). He is responsible for smooth Operation & Maintenance and implementation of all systems work such as S&T, AFC, Rolling Stock & Electrical, Power & Traction, L&E, E&M, Solar Power of KMRL and ITMS, PCS & Marine communication on Water Metro. Prior to that he was working as Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board, Trivandrum. Before that he was with Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited for implementation of State of Art technology CBTC, PSD, Signaling, AFC& Fare integration. Mr. Kumar is having over 32 years of rich experience in handling multi-functional range of Railway Engineering skills which includes planning, tendering, design, execution testing & commissioning and maintenance of Railway signal & Telecom systems in India and abroad including recruitment of skilled manpower for the transit. He has acquired licenses such as Signaling Designer & Verifier from IRSE London & construction license from CIDB, Malaysia. He has been instrumental in introducing renewable solar energy in KMRL to make it 52% energy neutrality and implemented ONDC, OMMS, GTFS etc. He has also been instrumental in India’s first Wi-Fi internet in running train (Howrah- Delhi Rajdhani express) & introducing 1st computer-based Train Control charting system, real time train enquiry in Nagpur. Mr. Kumar is member of IRSE London, fellow member of IRSTE/India and Chartered Engineer from Institute of Engineers (India).
