Dr Kate Barclay MBE CEng FIChemE - Kate is an experienced Biochemical Engineer who has worked in Global Medicines Manufacturing for over 30 years across large pharma and small biotech organisations on a wide range of medicinal products and device technologies. As a leader in life sciences she partners with employers and providers across STEM to build specialist skills, nurture early talent, and strengthen technical training. This includes leading workforce skills and talent policy with the Bioindustry Association, delivering specialist training for RESILIENCE, the UKs Medicines Manufacturing Skills Centre of Excellence and operating as Scientific Advisory Board Chair to several Centres for Doctoral Training. Kate has worked with national policy makers, global employers, and professional bodies to ensure industry skills demands are at the centre of setting standards and this year was awarded an MBE for services to Education and Skills having been the employer voice working with UK government on development of vocational education pathways across sectors.
