Rosane Cuber Guimaraes, General Director, Bio-Manguinhos, Fiocruz

Rosane Cuber Guimarães is the General Director of Bio-Manguinhos/Fiocruz, with over 25 years of experience in vaccine development, production, and regulatory affairs. She played a leading role in the strategic planning, regulatory negotiations, and large-scale production that enabled the launch of the COVID-19 vaccine in Brazil, including a successful technology transfer partnership with AstraZeneca. 
Her career also includes leadership in strengthening the Yellow Fever vaccine supply for Brazil’s national immunization program and international partners such as PAHO and UNICEF, as well as driving innovation projects like the development of a new plant-based vaccine platform. 
Rosane holds a PhD in Sanitary Surveillance from Fiocruz, an MBA in Production Engineering focused on productivity and quality from UFRJ, and a Master’s in Biochemistry. Her academic and professional journey reflects a strong combination of scientific expertise, industrial leadership, and commitment to advancing public health through vaccines.
