Parthiban Rajasekaran (Parthi) is an innovation lead at Sanofi, where he drives strategic external collaborations by sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating partnerships with academic and industry leaders. In this role, he engages with early-stage innovators and
entrepreneurs via a sponsored research framework to help groom emerging ideas into derisked assets. He also serves as Sanofi’s scientific lead for sponsored research collaborations. In his previous industry roles with Quanterix and Biotechne, Parthi worked with the sales and BD teams as technical expert for 5 different product lines with a direct impact on the P&L. Before moving to the industry, he was a research assistant professor at the University of Central Florida working on developing alternatives to antibiotics. He has published over 30 scientific articles including 3 patents. The recombinant vaccine platform developed as part of his PhD dissertation work won the AVMA award for the perceived impact in containing microbial resistance. Parthi holds a PhD in infectious diseases and immunology from Virginia Tech and a BVSc (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) from Madras Veterinary College.
