Michael DVM, DVSc is a senior life sciences executive with more than 30 years of global leadership in vaccines and biologics. He currently serves as a Senior Industry Specialist with the International Finance Corporation, supporting the World Bank Group's efforts to expand access to affordable, high-quality vaccines and biopharmaceuticals in emerging markets. Dr. Schunk has a manufacutring and operations background and advises on investment, market development, and regional manufacturing strategies across Africa, SOuthesat Asia, MENA, and the Americas. He works closely with global health partners to strengthen vaccine supply chains and local production capacity, and has contributed to major market studies on regional vaccine manufacturing.

Pandemics and outbreaks of diseases like Ebola and Lassa fever demand more than just scientific excellence — they require fast, adaptive and resilient partnerships.
Hilleman Laboratories and the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) are convening this workshop to share opportunities and lessons for successful outbreak-ready partnerships in vaccine development.
Format-wise, three case study presentations will be followed by a forward-looking panel discussion covering how to work together on product-level innovation, regional ecosystems and pandemic responsiveness.
