Mary Retzlaff, Chief Science Officer, Ambient Biosciences

Mary Retzlaff, PhD, is the Chief Scientific Officer at Ambient Biosciences. She earned her doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign. Prior to joining Ambient, Mary spent 20 years at Merck Research Laboratories in Bioprocess R&D, where she led teams responsible for analytical, process, and formulation development; CMC filings; and technology transfer for vaccines across Merck’s pipeline. At Ambient Biosciences, Mary now guides the scientific strategy behind the company’s novel stabilization technology for biomolecules—an innovation designed to enhance the stability of analytical reagents, clinical and diagnostic samples, biotherapeutics and vaccines and to eliminate the need for cold-chain storage and distribution.
