Dr. Lindsey Shields is an epidemiologist and global health leader with over 15 years of experience designing and implementing infectious disease surveillance, preparedness, and response programs in resource-limited settings worldwide. She currently serves as Deputy Director of Epidemic Preparedness and Response at PATH, where she leads multi-country initiatives focused on strengthening integrated surveillance systems, advancing One Health approaches, and supporting countries to detect and respond to emerging health threats. Dr. Shields previously worked with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she responded to outbreaks including Ebola, cholera, and botulism, and has collaborated extensively with governments, multilateral organizations, and private sector partners. Her expertise spans zoonotic diseases, data-driven decision-making, and translating surveillance insights into actionable strategies for both public health and operational resilience.
