Hibret Tilahun, Global Director, Core Group Partner's Project, World Vision

Dr. Hibret Tilahun is a global health leader with over two decades of experience in public health, health systems strengthening, immunization, and international development. He holds a PhD in Public Health and has led large-scale, complex, multi-country initiatives across Africa, Latin America, and Asia, working closely with governments, multilateral agencies, and global donors.
Dr. Tilahun currently serves as the Global Director of the CORE Group Partners Project, a multi-country initiative focused on polio eradication, immunization system strengthening, maternal and child health, nutrition, malaria, and global health security. The project is primarily funded by the U.S. Department of State and operates in 15 countries across Africa, Latin America, and Asia. In this role, he also oversees a supplemental grant from the Gates Foundation aimed at reaching children and women with critical immunization and primary health care services in remote, insecure, and hard-to-reach areas of Somalia.
Dr. Tilahun specializes in managing complex global health programs and provides strategic leadership across partnerships, program implementation, and multi-country operations. He is particularly passionate about strengthening resilient local health systems, capacitating local civil society organizations, advancing community-based health programs, and translating evidence into scalable and sustainable impact.
In addition to his global health leadership, Dr. Tilahun is committed to mentoring emerging leaders and fostering collaborative partnerships that drive measurable results in challenging and resource-constrained settings.
