Abstract: Obesity remains one of the most pervasive global health challenges, affecting more than one billion people worldwide and driving rising rates of cardiometabolic disease. While GLP‑1–based therapies and other anti-obesity medications have transformed treatment in recent years, the concept of an “obesity vaccine” continues to generate both scientific curiosity and public debate. Is such a vaccine still feasible? In this session, Dr. Deon Miller, Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician, Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, and seasoned Principal Investigator with more than 40 clinical trials, will explore the landscape of immunology, metabolism, and vaccine research as it relates to obesity. She will also discuss the potential benefits and risks of an obesity vaccine.Bridging her acute-care background with her metabolic health expertise, Dr. Miller provides a balanced, clinically grounded perspective on where vaccine-based obesity interventions stand today, and whether they could meaningfully complement or even reshape future obesity treatment strategies.
