Areeje is a Virology Scientist at Microbiologics Inc. She holds a PhD in Microbiology with a specialization in virology. Her doctoral research focused on virus–host interactions, with particular emphasis on the positive-sense single-stranded RNA virus Brome mosaic virus. She further expanded her expertise during her postdoctoral training, where she investigated Hepatitis B virus. In her current role, Areeje is responsible for the development, standardization, and qualification of virology assays, supporting work across multiple viruses, including working in BSL-2 and BSL-3 environments.
