Nico Grove is a member of the Executive Board and Co-Founder of Di4 e.V. (Digital Infrastructure for Innovation, Investment, Industry and Digitalisation), where he promotes collaboration between investors, industry, academia, and policymakers to advance digital infrastructure development. He is also Managing Director of kawikani GmbH & Co. KG, advising on infrastructure investment, strategy, and digital transformation.
He has more than two decades of experience spanning digital infrastructure, infrastructure economics, investment, academia, and management consulting. His work focuses on the economic, strategic, and policy dimensions of digital infrastructure, including broadband, fibre networks, and long-term infrastructure investment.
Alongside his executive responsibilities, Nico serves on the Supervisory Board of Thüringer Glasfaser Gesellschaft mbH and is a board member of several non-profit organisations, including the Bianca Vetter Foundation and pilotraum 0.1 e.V. He is also Chief Executive Officer of the Institute for Infrastructure Economics & Management, where he contributes to research and thought leadership on infrastructure development and investment.
Prior to founding kawikani, Nico served as Managing Director of kāpena, a company focused on enabling future-ready digital infrastructure for the public and private sectors. Earlier in his career, he worked as a consultant at Accenture, advising organisations on business and technology transformation.
Nico holds a doctorate from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München) and has also studied at Macquarie University and Stanford University. His experience combines infrastructure economics, investment strategy, governance, and digital infrastructure development, supporting initiatives that strengthen connectivity and long-term economic growth.
