Jonathan Martin is Head of International Telecoms Trade for the UK Government, where he leads the UK's international trade policy for the telecommunications sector. He is responsible for advancing UK interests in telecommunications and digital technologies through trade negotiations, international partnerships and regulatory cooperation.
With more than 20 years' experience across government, trade policy and digital transformation, Jonathan has held a number of senior leadership roles in the UK Government. These have included Deputy Director for Digital Trade, Head of International Tech Hubs and Digital Trade Network, Head of US Trade Policy, and Head of EU Exit Business Readiness.
Throughout his career, Jonathan has represented the UK in international trade negotiations and has led programmes to strengthen digital trade relationships, support technology partnerships and promote innovation-led economic growth. His expertise spans telecommunications, digital trade, AI, cybersecurity and international regulatory cooperation.
Jonathan holds a BA in Politics from the University of Sussex and a Diploma in English as a Foreign Language from the University of Cambridge.
