Thorvardur Sveinsson, CEO Farice Thorvardur has held several key positions in the Icelandic telecoms market.  Prior to joining Farice as CEO in May 2020 he held executive positions at Vodafone Iceland including COO and CCO for enterprise and development.   Before joining Vodafone ,Thorvardur was head of group development and strategy for Iceland Telecom. Thorvardur has led several strategic projects that effect the entire telecom and data centre market in Iceland, including the development of a new submarine data centre cable from Iceland to Ireland, IRIS. The IRIS cable is be the third submarine cable system operated by Farice and came into operations on March 1st 2023. Farice is the leading connectivity provider to the Icelandic market using its three submarine cables that connect Iceland with the Ireland, UK and Denmark.
