Thomas Soerensen | VP, Global Submarine Sales

Thomas Soerensen currently serves as Vice President, Global Submarine Sales, at Ciena. In this role, he leads the Global Submarine Solutions Group and is responsible for customer relationships, new business development and market positioning for consortia and privately owned cable systems. 
 
Thomas has been in the industry for more than 23 years and has held various senior management positions at Nokia/Alcatel and TE SubCom within sales, business development, project management, operations and marine maintenance of turnkey undersea telecommunication cable systems. 

Before joining the telecom industry, Thomas served as Master Mariner in the Merchant Marine. 
 
Thomas was a Director and Executive Committee Member of the International Cable Protection Committee from 2013 to 2016.
