Alberto Passos, Telecom Business Director, IP Telecom

Alberto Teixeira Passos has a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering attained at Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa (1992) with a specialization in Telecommunications (5 years), a master’s degree in Marketing for Executives from Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics (2009) and a Leadership and Strategy graduation Course at Nova School of Business and Economics (2021).
 
With more than 30 years of experience, mainly in the telecommunications and transportation sectors, having held roles at Telecom Portugal, Philips Portugal, MaxitelSat, Maxitel, Refer Telecom and IP Telecom. He also collaborated with INESC, Gustave Eiffel technical school, Grupo Águas de Portugal (AdP) and consultancy at UITP (International Union of Public Transport) as part of an experts group (SECURED) between 2012 and 2014.
 
With published papers in the areas of ​​digital systems and electronics (Cooptécnica) and with published articles, Alberto hold positions in the areas of network planning (Telecom Portugal), telecommunications project (Philips Sistemas de Telecomunicações), DataCom Product Management (Philips Portuguesa S.A.), Key Account Manager of satellite communications (MaxitelSat), head of department of Direct Sales and Satellite communications business (Maxitel), Director of Corporate Sales (Maxitel), Director of Marketing & Sales (Refer Telecom), Director of Enterprise Operations (Refer Telecom), Advisor (PCA AdP Group) and Deputy General Manager (Refer Telecom).
 
Currently Head of Direction at IP Telecom's Telecommunications and Infrastructure business, working alongside the Novo Anel CAM submarine cable project, which will connect mainland Portugal to the Azores and Madeira islands up to 150Tbps and an innovative SMART technology component associated.
