Prabhu Vinayagam, Managing Director, Asia-Pacific Office, Joint Commision International

Dr. Vinayagam assumed the role of managing director of the Singapore-based Asia-Pacific Office in July 2014. He is an accomplished C-suite executive with experience in health care strategy and innovation and draws upon his background as a Physician with a MBA and 20 year Industry experience at various roles across the Asia pacific region.

In his current role, Dr. Vinayagam is responsible for regional and country-level strategy and business development for JCI’s advisory services, accreditation, and education units in the Asia-Pacific region. He also works to develop and strengthen strategic relations with international organizations, ministries of health, and leading academic medical centers and hospitals in the region. 

Previously, Dr. Vinayagam was director of Pharmacy Solutions and Clinical Strategy, Central and South Asia-Pacific Region, for BD Medical, a global medical technology company serving health care institutions, life science researchers, clinical laboratories, and the general public.

He has also served as a medical officer, and filled other key roles with Safdarjung Hospital, G.B. Pant Hospital, L.N.J.P.N Hospital in New Delhi and as a Medical Officer at the Bharat Aluminum Company limited at Amarkantak Mines

Dr. Vinayagam is a popular resource speaker for international forums on health care and leadership development and he was instrumental in developing an infection control audit successfully used by hospitals in China, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Korea, Singapore, and Australia.

He earned his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi University in India and a MBA from S.P.Jain institute of Global Management from Singapore. Among recent accomplishments, he was instrumental in establishing the Infusion Nurses Society-India (INS-India) to develop and disseminate country-specific infusion standards and guidelines. Currently he serves as president of INS-India and is a member of the Delhi Medical Association and Hospital Infection Control Society.
