BRDG (Bridge to Connect) is a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering first-generation and underrepresented college students pursuing degrees in engineering, computer science, and other STEM disciplines. Founded by an Engineer, BRDG bridges the gap between academic learning and workforce success through mentorship, hands-on innovation, leadership development, and career readiness programs.
Its flagship Innovation Challenge brings multidisciplinary student teams together with experienced industry coaches to develop technology-driven solutions addressing real-world sustainability and societal challenges. Participants gain practical experience in engineering design, project management, entrepreneurship, teamwork, and professional communication while building prototypes and presenting their innovations to industry leaders and potential employers.
Powered entirely by volunteers and industry partners, BRDG creates pathways to internships, employment, and leadership opportunities. By equipping future STEM leaders with professional skills, confidence, and meaningful industry connections, BRDG is building a more diverse and innovative workforce prepared to solve tomorrow's challenges.
