Molly Strausbaugh | Director, Commercial Chemistry Initiatives

Molly directs the Specialty Databases and Services Operations unit at CAS, overseeing and supporting consulting agreements and offering all special substance services offered by CAS. She leads several cross-functional teams to support CAS product and service offerings, including the formulations content collection. CAS customers rely on the experience of Molly and her team for regulatory reporting, sustainability initiatives, consulting on business, content, technology, and resource challenges, and formulations data structuring/ingredient exploration. Molly holds B.S. in Chemistry and MBA degrees from Ohio Dominican University and is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. Molly is an active participant in global chemistry activities, and she brings her informatics work to life in her home kitchen exploring global ingredients and flavors to craft delicious meals and custom skincare.

Data-driven insights for next generation sustainability

Regulatory compliance is critical for adopting sustainability initiatives in pharma. However, further progress is dependent on meeting functional requirements and green initiatives becoming more cost effective. To achieve this, we must combine the power and promise of data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence trained on authoritative and comprehensive scientific content. We will share our efforts to explore chemical value chains, identifying opportunities where adopting sustainable substances and processes beyond government mandates drive functional advantages and efficiency in process and cost.
