I build the workforce infrastructure for laboratory automation. Labs are buying instruments faster than they are building the people to run them. That gap is where I work: education guidelines, competency and career frameworks, and training programs that get scientists productive on automation instead of intimidated by it. Right now I'm leading development of the Global Automated Science Education Guidelines, the first education standard for the field, funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, with an 11-member drafting committee spanning academia and industry across three continents. I also lead workforce development for the $18M NSF Cloud Lab, part of the $400M Cloud Lab Network, and co-instruct the SLAS Applied Liquid Handling Bootcamp. Before founding The Glassfloor, I launched Opentrons for Education, bringing laboratory automation to more than 2,000 students every year. Earlier I led product at Canid, co-founded and ran Banting PBC, and served as chief of staff at Koniku. I hold a PhD in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences and four patents.
