James Carsley, Delivery Director, GoFibre

James Carsley is Delivery Director at GoFibre and has more than 15 years' experience delivering large-scale telecommunications and digital infrastructure programmes across the UK. He has built a career leading the planning, delivery and transformation of complex fibre broadband networks, with expertise spanning network deployment, programme delivery, commercial strategy and stakeholder management. Prior to joining GoFibre, James was a senior consultant at FarrPoint, where he advised public and private sector organisations on broadband strategy, digital infrastructure and investment. This experience gave him a unique perspective on both the policy and practical delivery challenges involved in transforming the UK's digital infrastructure. He has also worked extensively with Openreach, supporting major fibre deployment programmes and collaborating on some of the UK's largest broadband infrastructure initiatives, providing him with a broad understanding of both incumbent and alternative network delivery models. At GoFibre, James leads the delivery of the company's full-fibre network programme, overseeing the teams responsible for safely delivering high-quality infrastructure at scale. Throughout his career James has worked closely with government, local authorities, infrastructure partners and suppliers to deliver projects that create lasting economic and social benefits through improved digital connectivity. Earlier in his career, James held a number of leadership roles at Openreach, where he gained extensive experience delivering national-scale telecommunications infrastructure programmes
