Dritan is Director of Technology for Future Networks and Digital Infrastructure at Digital Catapult, with over 30 years’ experience as a technologist and researcher in communication networks, distributed systems, and interoperability. He leads Digital Catapult's Future Networks and 5G programmes, driving innovation in advanced ICT systems and their deployment across enterprise networks in the UK. He co-founded SONIC Labs and the UK Telecommunication Innovation Network (UKTIN). A recognised thought leader, Dritan has published over 75 papers, holds three patents, and edited two international standards. He is a frequent speaker on digital infrastructure and connectivity, and has advised both industry and government. He has represented the UK in global standardisation bodies and chaired several international technical committees. Dritan's current focus is on national coordination for advanced digital infrastructure, strengthening UK R&D in next-generation connectivity, and undertaking research and developing technical advances in 5G/6G architectures, orchestration and edge computing.
