VENUE SELECTION
ExCeL London, backed by ADNEC, is one of the UK’s leading exhibition and conference centres and a recognised sustainability leader. Certified carbon neutral in 2022, the venue uses 100% renewable electricity, has sent zero waste to landfill for over a decade, and is a proud signatory of the Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge. Its strategy focuses on five key pillars – from sustainable events and responsible supply chains to community impact and governance – ensuring every event hosted contributes to a resource-efficient, inclusive, and net zero future.
ACCESSIBILITY
Connected Britain and ExCeL London is committed to inclusivity. All exhibition stands and stages have ramp access. The venue offers step-free access from nearby stations, wheelchair-friendly entrances, and level flooring throughout the venue. Facilities include 40 accessible toilets, a Changing Places room with hoist, and free wheelchair and mobility scooter hire (subject to availability). The venue also offers 80 Blue Badge parking bays with easy building access, while wide walkways and automatic doors ensure a smooth experience for all visitors.
TRAVEL OPTIONS
ExCeL London is easy to reach by public transport, with Custom House and Prince Regent DLR stations right next to the venue and direct links via the Elizabeth Line. Choosing trains and the Underground is not only faster but also the greenest way to travel, cutting emissions and congestion compared to driving. For those taking taxis, we recommend using greener options when selecting your vehicle type.
ACCOMMODATION CHOICES
Connected Britain recommends eco-certified local hotels committed to minimizing environmental impact, ensuring a greener stay for attendees. We partner with HotelMap for exclusive deals on accommodation near the venue, with a 'Green hotel' filter available.
RESPONSIBLE CONTRACTORS
Our contractors and suppliers are carefully selected to align with our sustainability goals. From using recycled and reusable materials to providing energy-efficient solutions, they ensure that every build and service has a lower environmental impact. Suppliers also share data to help us track and reduce our carbon footprint, ensuring Connected Britain continues to set the standard for sustainable events.
SANCTUARY SPACE
Connected Britain provides a dedicated Sanctuary Space for anyone who needs a quiet moment away from the busy show floor. This calm, device-free area is designed for reflection and recharge, offering a peaceful environment to pause, reset, and return refreshed to the event.
CHARITY PARTNER
This year, Connected Britain is proud to support Sue Ryder, a charity providing expert care, compassion, and support for people at the end of life and those living with grief. Their vital work ensures that no one has to face loss or bereavement alone. By partnering with Sue Ryder, we’re helping raise awareness and funds for services that make a real difference in communities across the UK. Together, we can ensure care is there when it matters most.
LANYARD RECYCLING
To reduce waste and support our sustainability goals, all event lanyards are recyclable. Simply hand yours back at the collection points when exiting the venue. By returning your lanyard, you’ll help us reuse materials responsibly and keep Connected Britain as green as possible.
VEGAN FOOD TRUCK
We’re excited to welcome a dedicated vegan food truck to Connected Britain 2025, offering fresh, plant-based meals right on site. From hearty wraps and street-style bowls to lighter snacks and sweet treats, the menu is designed to fuel your day while supporting sustainable choices.
5K RUN
We’re encouraging attendees to start Connected Britain on a healthy note with the Connected Britain 5K Run. Taking place the evening before the event, the run is open to all levels, whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a light jog. To keep the run sustainable, we ask everyone to bring their own filled water bottles. Staying fit, healthy, and environmentally conscious is all part of the Connected Britain experience.
PAPERLESS INITIATIVE
Connected Britain has adopted a fully paperless approach, significantly reducing paper waste, energy consumption, and transportation emissions while exploring innovative communication methods. All event information including the conference program can be found on the event app.
CARBON EMISSIONS TRACKING
Since 2023, Total Telecom has tracked carbon emissions from attendee travel, waste, and energy use, working toward reducing the event’s carbon footprint and keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
