MATS Training Area

As part of our Recruitment and Training Zone, the MATS group will provide a unique ‘a day in the life’ experience of a site engineer in a site environment. Please join us in this working area where you will undertake inductions and risk assessments before moving into a demo area demonstrating the very real risk of falling objects. Experience the potential damage from dropping something as small as a bolt from height, or step into a work-at-height simulation by putting on a harness and walking over our podium. Here, you'll learn how to safely attach yourself to prevent falls while navigating toward active telecom equipment.

The Mast and Tower Safety (MATS) Group is a collective of organisations that own or manage masts and towers, including monopoles, gantries, rooftops, and other structures with significant work-at-height and occupational radio frequency (RF) hazards. The Group’s primary focus is ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all personnel involved with these structures.

The MATS Group publishes various documents on their website, including Guidance Notes and Safety Bulletins, to assist contractors and suppliers in achieving safe working practices and addressing industry-specific hazards. MATS' vision is dedicated to the continual improvement and promotion of safety across the Mobile, Telecoms, and Broadcast industries.
