Terance Henry, IT Director, City of Marion

Terance Henry currently serves as the IT Director for the City of Marion. He has been credited with providing the City of Marion with all the technological advancements it has today. Developing, planning, and protecting the integrity of the network for all the different city-owned departments—which include Police, Fire, Public Library, Water, and Sewer—is just one of his many assignments. Terance currently serves on several boards, including:

  • The Police and Fire Pension Board
  • Board Chair of the Southern Illinois Workforce Development (WIAO) District 25
  • Past President of the John A. Logan Community College Foundation Board
  • Governor-appointed State of Illinois and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program Task Force
  • Illinois Digital and Public Sector Cybersecurity Advisory Board
  • Washington University STL ACCERT Siteman Center Advisory Board
  • Illinois Smart City & Region Association (ISCRA) Municipal Advisory Committee
  • Class of 2023 DLI (DRA) Delta Leadership Institute
  • Ambassador for The Illinois State Tresurer's Advisory Council 
Terance has won numerous awards, including:
  • Outstanding Achievement in Workforce and Labor from the State of Illinois Treasurer's Office
  • Southern Business Journal 2010 Leaders Among Us
  • ACEC 2015 Engineering Excellence Award
  • 2018 GMIS International Government to Citizens Award

In his spare time, he loves mentoring young adults and helping the community through his non-profit group, Connect 360, on how to start their own businesses while encouraging them to be productive citizens.
