Chief Information Officer | City of Seguin, Texas Shane McDaniel has served as the City of Seguin’s inaugural Chief Information Officer since 2018, bringing nearly 30 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. His career began in 1996 with the U.S. Air Force supporting military intelligence operations, followed by years in federal service and leadership roles in global cybersecurity within the private sector. Over the past decade, Shane has led modernization efforts in Texas municipal government, aligning secure, resilient technology with community-focused service delivery. He is known for bridging strategy, operations, and culture to drive practical, mission-driven innovation. A proud native Texan, Shane holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in technology, is a published author, and maintains certifications including CGCIO, PMP, CISM, ITIL, and CompTIA Security+. Under his leadership, Seguin’s IT department has earned multiple industry awards nationally and internationally, establishing the city as a leading municipal innovation hub.
