Kimberly Swartz is a social change leader and recognized expert in volunteerism program design and delivery, who is committed to building a more connected, equitable, and resilient nonprofit sector. As Senior Director of Pro Bono Services at Taproot Foundation, Kimberly leads the strategic vision and execution of Taproot’s next-generation pro bono marketplace. She oversees Taproot Plus, a tech-enabled platform that mobilizes skilled volunteers to support nonprofits with high-impact capacity-building services. Under her leadership, Taproot has scaled its reach and deepened its impact—connecting 1,000+ nonprofits with pro bono support totaling over $7 million on an annual basis. Kimberly brings over a decade of experience in nonprofit communications, community engagement, and human-centered design. She was a founding member of Taproot’s Marketing & Communications team and has shaped outreach strategies that center empathy, equity, and shared learning. In her current role, she drives innovation, thought leadership, and cross-sector collaboration to ensure pro bono service remains a powerful tool for social change and skill development. Rooted in direct service work as an AmeriCorps NCCC alum, public library advocate, and lifelong volunteer, Kimberly regularly partners with nonprofits, companies, and intermediaries to advance innovative volunteer engagement practices. She is passionate about building inclusive ecosystems where community members can thrive together.
