Mr. Mohamed Hanno: A Visionary Leader Shaping the Future of Aviation Services
With over 40 years of experience in prestigious international aviation and travel organizations across Europe and the MENA region, Mr. Mohamed Hanno has left an indelible mark on the industry. His journey stands as a testament to professional perseverance, visionary leadership, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Mr. Hanno’s career has been deeply shaped by extensive exposure to global operations, equipping him with a wealth of knowledge on international standards and best practices. Leveraging this experience, he founded ASE—an aviation services company now synonymous with safety, quality, and professional development. He was also part of the pioneering team that initiated and contributed to the development of the ISAGO and IGOM standards.
Mr. Hanno’s influence extends well beyond ASE. He has held prominent roles in several international aviation bodies:
•           Active member of the IATA AGSA Working Group/Task Force.
•           Elected Officer of the IATA Ground Handling Council (IGHC) from 2011 to 2016.
•           Appointed member of the IATA Ground Operations Group (GOG)—the advisory body to the IATA Ground Ops Committee—serving two mandates until the end of 2022.
•           Board Member of ASA from 2011 until October 2023, after which he was elected to the Supervisory Board of ASA for a two-year term.

Founding ASE was a transformative milestone in Mr. Hanno’s career. It was the embodiment of his belief in building a company rooted in global standards, local adaptability, and continuous improvement. Under his leadership, ASE has evolved into more than just a service provider—it is now a trusted strategic partner for airlines, recognized for delivering reliable, high-quality operations.
From the very beginning, Mr. Hanno prioritized a culture of training, development, and global benchmarking. He understood that even the best strategies would fall short without empowered, well-trained professionals. Through mentorship, leadership development, and structured training programs, he shaped ASE’s people-first philosophy—one that has built a confident, capable, and loyal workforce.
Mr. Hanno's approach emphasized collaboration over transactions. By fostering long-term relationships with airline partners and viewing them as collaborators, he built a culture of trust and mutual growth. This model has helped ASE—and the wider aviation services sector—achieve greater stability and operational excellence.
His dedication to implementing international best practices in regional operations set a new standard for aviation services in the MENA region. His emphasis on safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement inspired other service providers to raise their standards, ultimately enhancing the entire ecosystem.
Mr. Mohamed Hanno’s legacy is reflected in ASE’s ongoing success and expansion—a company built on decades of wisdom, driven by passion, and empowered by a world-class team. As he often says:
“Without our airline partners and our team members, we wouldn’t have been what we are today.”
He didn’t just build a company—he raised the bar for what aviation services can and should be.
