James Fremantle, Senior Manager, Consumer Policy and Enforcement, U.K. Civil Aviation Authority

The UK Civil Aviation Authority is the UK's specialist aviation regulator. In addition to its safety and security responsibilities, the CAA enforces a variety of consumer protection legislation. James is Senior Manager, Consumer Policy and Enforcement, with particular responsibility for aviation accessibility, including enforcememt of Assimilated Regulation (EU) 1107/2006 concerning the rights of disabled people and those with reduced mobility. His role is varied, working with stakeholders from industry, disability charities and also with disabled inviduals. It often takes him round the country to monitor the standards of assistance and to check on accessibility services and infrastrcuture. James has also held other positions in the CAA's Consumer Policy division.
