Roberto Castiglioni, Director, Reduced Mobility Rights

As an aviation accessibility consultant at easyJet and a senior assisted travel researcher at INCLAVI, my primary responsibility is to ensure that people with disabilities and reduced mobility have equal access to air travel. I have been working in this field for over a decade, and during this time, I have gained extensive experience and knowledge in promoting accessibility and inclusivity.

My work involves collaborating with airlines, airports, and regulatory authorities to improve the air travel experience for people with disabilities. I provide advice and guidance on various aspects of accessibility, such as wheelchair assistance, boarding procedures, communication, and training for airline staff. I also conduct research to identify best practices and innovative solutions that can enhance the travel experience for people with disabilities.

My passion for making aviation more inclusive stems from my belief that everyone has the right to travel with dignity and confidence. I am committed to raising awareness and promoting positive change in the industry, ensuring that air travel is accessible to everyone, regardless of their ability or mobility.

Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated my ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including regulators, airports, airlines, and other organizations, to design and implement accessibility solutions that are both cost-effective and of the highest possible quality.

I am particularly proud of my contributions to the field of accessibility, which include publishing research, chairing advisory boards and panels, and contributing to policy and standards development at both the national and international levels. These experiences have given me the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively lead accessibility initiatives and to ensure that the needs of all individuals are met, regardless of their ability.

II am honored to have been awarded the MBE in 2022 for my work in making aviation more accessible. My goal is to make flying accessible to everyone, one flight at a time.
