Dr. Jayson Bergania is a (Cum Laude) graduate of BSE-English from the Philippine Normal University. He completed the Academic Requirements from the Master’s Program in Speech Communications from the University of the Philippines. He has a Master’s degree in Educational Management & Leadership from St. Dominic Savio College. Furthermore, he completed National Vocational Qualifications in Health and Social Care and the A-Level Assessor’s Program while working as the Training Department Head in England, United Kingdom. He has also completed the Massive Open Online Courses on Content based Instruction (CBI) by World Learning, Teaching Struggling Readers Around the World, by World Learning & The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Teaching English to Young Learners by George Mason University to name a few. He graduated with an Award of Distinction topping his batch in the Doctor of Education degree major in Innovative Educational Management from the University of Makati with his Dissertation Research focusing on Gen Z Learners’ Manifestation of Digital Intelligence. As a lifelong learner, he just completed a Global Competence Certification Online Course based in Ohio, US; and has recently graduated from the OPEN program on Professional Development for Teacher Trainers Course by Arizona State University through a scholarship program sponsored by the US Embassy in Manila. He was awarded Outstanding Educator for Teaching Excellence by the 2018 Dangal ng Bayan Award during the 38th People’s Choice Excellence Awards by the National Consumer Affairs Foundation in March 2018 and Man of the Year 2019 for Outstanding Dedication in the Field of Innovative Education by the University Circle of Professional Educators Inc. (UCPE) during the 3rd UCPE International Conference in April 2019. With his passion in teacher- training and 21st Century Learning, he has been a resource person and paper presenter in workshops, trainings, research conferences and webinars in Public and Private schools, colleges & corporate organizations locally and internationally. He is also actively serving as the volunteer Camp Leader for the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) programs in the City of Makati in partnership with the Department of State of the US Embassy in Manila. He has more than 25 years of combined teaching and educational leadership experience both here in the Philippines and abroad. Presently, he is a Guest Professorial Lecturer in the Graduate Schools of the University of Makati, the Philippine Normal University, Jose Rizal University and St. Joseph’s College of Quezon City. He was the Director for Quality Management and Development Center of the University of Makati. It was during his term as Quality Assurance manager when the University acquired its Institutional recognition from CHED and its 101-200 ranking placement in the World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) 2023. Presently, he is the Dean of the College of Innovative Teacher Education of the University of Makati.
