Lauren Kirby, Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Technician Specialist, Greencross Vet Hospital

Lauren is an Australian Veterinary Nurse with over 15 years of experience specialising in emergency and critical care medicine. She is AVNAT registered and completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2010.

Initially focused on veterinary ophthalmology for seven years, Lauren transitioned to emergency and critical care medicine in 2015. Since then, she has worked in emergency and critical care departments at private and academic specialty and referral hospitals. Lauren is a RECOVER CPR-certified instructor in Basic and Advanced Life Support. 

In 2017 Lauren earned a Certificate in Veterinary Nursing for Emergency and Critical Care (CertVNECC). In 2022, she passed her Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) board exam in Emergency and Critical Care, earning membership in the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians and Nurses (AVECCTN).

Lauren's extensive experience in emergency and critical care medicine has fuelled her passion for learning and teaching. Her exposure to diverse and complex cases has enriched her skills, and she finds fulfilment in sharing her expertise to empower others in the field.
