I started my nursing career 11 year ago in the UK originally working in mixed practice. I began my journey into emergency and critical care nursing around 3 years into my career. Since then I have attained my advanced nursing certificate in emergency and critical care as well as my VTS in ECC. I moved to Australia 6 years ago, continuing my journey in specialists emergency and critical care nursing. I love working in specialist ICUs as well as leading emergency teams. I am passionate about nursing education, in both theoretical knowledge as well as hands on advanced nursing skills such as central line placement.

Categorising Shock for Veterinary Nurses

This talk will cover:- Cardiovascular system overview- Perfusion and assessing perfusion parameters- Discussion on the four main types of shock- How to recognise the type of shock in canine and feline patients This talk aims to be an overview of the types of shock commonly seen in patients presenting to veterinary clinics. The talk is aimed at nurses ranging from GP to emergency nurses, and would be a good refresher for specialist nurses.
