Excalon Energy are an Independent Connections Provider (ICP) with operating capacity throughout the UK. We have the capability to design, procure, install, test and commission new electrical connections from the designated Point of Connection (PoC) to the customers metering apparatus. The installed assets are designed and constructed to the adoptable standards of the regional Distribution Network Operator (DNO) or Independent DNO (IDNO).

We are accredited by Lloyds Register National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) to deliver connection projects from LV up to and including 132kV. Excalon Energy provide a commercially competitive alternative to utilising the host DNO, whilst adhering to project programme timescales and offering a personable approach by means of an allocated Project Manager to coordinate from procurement phase through to energisation.

Our expertise, operating as an ICP, span across a range of sectors including Industrial & Commercial, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Renewables, Short Term Operating Reserves (STOR) (with or without carbon capture technology) and other flexible assets, Electric Vehicle (EV), Residential, Public Sector, Water Authority and many more applications.

In order to allow the most seamless process to achieve your new electrical connection, Excalon Energy will assist by means of free consultation, the point of connection application to the DNO on the customers behalf, considering the customers site specific electrical loading characteristics - ensuring the best solution is found for the future of the development. Our flexible approach allows adoptable recommendations to be considered such as alternative cable routes, metering voltage changes and inclusion of substation accommodation construction.

In conjunction to offering contestable connection solutions, we have the ability to deliver ‘behind the meter’ High Voltage private infrastructure projects, design, Electrical & Civil Balance of Plant (BoP) and Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) for embedded generation and flexible assets such as BESS & STOR, ultimately offering a full turnkey power distribution installation.
