Mr. Trần Minh Thao is the CEO of Thai Hung Corporation, a Vietnamese company that began as a mechanical export firm in 2006 and transitioned into the electric vehicle sector in 2020. Under his leadership, Thai Hung launched its EV manufacturing operations with the establishment of the Thai Hung Electromechanical Plant in An Bài town, Quỳnh Phụ district, Thái Bình province.
The plant is the first of its kind in Thái Bình to independently design and manufacture a range of electric vehicles, including golf carts, passenger shuttles, utility vehicles for defense, healthcare, and environmental services — branded entirely under Thai Hung. The company does not assemble foreign-branded vehicles but instead develops its own product lines.
Thai Hung aims to deliver 6,000 urban electric vehicles in its first three years, built to European standards, and plans to enter Vietnam’s A-segment EV market. With this, Thai Hung becomes one of only three companies assembling electric cars in Vietnam. The company has also secured approval from Vietnam’s Department for Registering Production.
Driven by a vision of “Thái Bình – Hưng Thịnh – Kiến Quốc” (Peace – Prosperity – Nation Building), Mr. Thao leads Thai Hung with the ambition to contribute to Vietnam’s green industrial future through “Make in Vietnam – Made in Thái Bình” electric vehicles.
