Mr. Alan Yau is the CEO of Verdant Energy, a Singapore-based renewable energy platform active across Southeast Asia.

With more than 30 years of experience in energy and infrastructure, Mr. Yau has led the development, acquisition, and operation of a diversified portfolio spanning solar, wind, waste-to-energy, mini-hydro, and energy storage. Prior to Verdant Energy, he served as CEO of Athena Energy Holdings and CEO of Sembcorp China, where he oversaw 27 utilities companies and grew net profit from S$9 million to S$100 million over five years.

Mr. Yau is widely recognized for his leadership in strategy execution, large-scale project development, and stakeholder management across China, Southeast Asia, and the broader APAC region. He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from the National University of Singapore and frequently contributes thought leadership on renewable energy economics and transition pathways.
