Sheila Okiro, Chief Investment Officer - Financial Intermediation And Inclusion, African Development Bank

Sheila Okiro is a financial services professional with twenty years of experience. Her areas of expertise include digital financial services, transactional banking, SME banking and corporate banking. Key aspects of her roles in financial services include: strategy formulation, echannel development and optimisation, business development, debt structure, risk management, client and stakeholder relationship management, portfolio management, project management, training and capacity building. 
Sheila has worked with several reputed banks in Kenya including Co-operative Bank of Kenya, Standard Chartered Bank, Commercial Bank of Africa and Barclays Bank. Whilst in banking she served in different capacities with key roles as Senior Corporate Banking Manager and Head EChannels. Sheila has also worked as a Consultant in digital financial services helping to build capacity and knowledge on digital financial services across different stakeholders including telecommunication companies, banks, fintechs and regulators.  
Sheila is currently a Chief Investment Officer in the Private Sector Department at the African Development Bank working in the Financial Intermediation and Inclusion Division. Sheila has an Executive MBA from Strathmore Business School, Kenya.
