AltoTech has developed Alto CERO, an AIoT platform designed to help hotels, buildings, and factories optimize energy consumption and reduce carbon emissions through the integration of IoT and AI algorithms. By leveraging comprehensive data sources—including electricity consumption profiles, billing data, weather conditions, occupancy levels, building operations, and even security cameras—Alto CERO enables advanced energy management and optimization.
A key innovation currently under development is the “Self-Driving” algorithm, which automatically controls HVAC systems that typically account for around 60% of a building’s energy usage. Unlike conventional automation systems, Alto CERO provides automatic control for both air-side equipment (such as AHUs and FCUs) and water-side systems (such as chiller plants), while factoring in locally generated renewable energy like solar power. This AI-first and data-driven approach makes the platform stand out from typical building automation and chiller plant management solutions.
The software architecture incorporates IoT devices and gateways installed at each building, enabling monitoring and control through a multi-agent system. Reinforcement Learning algorithms will be developed and trained on GPU cloud infrastructure, then deployed onto edge devices such as NVIDIA Jetson TX2. This enables real-time, intelligent decision-making that powers Alto CERO’s self-driving energy optimization capabilities.
