Dr. Nour Aburaed is an Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering at the University of Dubai. She earned her PhD in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, focusing on hyperspectral image super-resolution, and holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Khalifa University. Prior to academia, she spent six years at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre Lab, where she worked on national projects in Earth observation, sustainability, and AI-powered image analysis, including tools for monitoring agriculture and urban development. Her research interests include artificial intelligence, remote sensing, hyperspectral and multispectral image processing, and smart city applications. She has authored and reviewed numerous papers in top IEEE journals, contributed to conference organization, and frequently serves as a speaker and panelist on AI and space technology. She is currently the Secretary of the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) UAE Chapter and served as a guest editor for multiple journals. Dr. Aburaed is passionate about bridging research and practice, with ongoing projects that address environmental technology, sustainable infrastructure, and health-related AI applications.
