Abdul Rauf Sheik, Principle Scientist, CSIR - Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology

Abdul Rauf Sheik is a chemical engineering scientist engaged in industrial research in hydrometallurgy. His experience in research includes up-scaling of process metallurgy flow sheets, Basic Engineering Package preparation, techno-economic analysis, CFD simulations and membrane processes. Solvent extraction is his area of focus in process development, including the development of novel solvent extraction systems such as microreactors and electrochemical mixer-settlers. He is currently engaged industrial implementation of processes for the recovery of critical metals such as cobalt, nickel, lithium and commercial metals such as copper.
