Tamara Al-Salim is an experienced identity and risk assurance practitioner with deep expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM), digital identity governance, and enterprise risk assurance. She currently works as a Project Manager at the Kantara Initiative, where she is leading work to establish Kantara’s Impartiality Oversight Body, strengthening trust, governance, and assurance across the global digital identity ecosystem. Tamara’s background spans senior roles across government and higher education, where she developed a strong, delivery-focused understanding of identity, risk, and assurance in complex organisations. She is well respected for her ability to see programmes of work through end-to-end, bringing clear judgement, structure, and pragmatism to initiatives across the identity domain and broader enterprise risk management. A regular contributor to international stages of identity and security forums, Tamara is committed to advancing trustworthy and inclusive identity ecosystems. She has volunteered with organisations that promote women and minorities in the sector, including the New Zealand Network for Women in Security (NZNWD) and Women in Identity (WID), and is an active mentor, supporting the development of emerging leaders within the global identity community.
